Laie has a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotech from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain and started her career in 2010 at Almirall in Barcelona as Junior Scientist in DMPK. In 2012, she moved to Almac Discovery in Belfast where she was involved in establishing their DMPK department. In 2015, Laie moved to Nottingham to join XenoGesis as Senior Scientist and Team Leader. XenoGesis was founded by Richard Weaver and had become the largest independent DMPK contract research organisation in the UK. When Sygnature Discovery acquired XenoGesis in 2020, Laie joined their DMPK team as Principal Scientist. She also worked at Benevolent AI for a period of time before moving to Charnwood Discovery.
